BIOGRAPHY Susan Cannon is a British freelance composer and teacher who completed her doctorate in composition at the Birmingham Conservatoire. Initially she studied with Joe Cutler and then spent eight years studying with Edwin Roxburgh.  She has written solo, ensemble and orchestral works that have been performed in many parts of the United Kingdom, Europe and Russia. Some of Susan's most recent commissions have been The Ekaterinburg Academic State Philharmonic Society in Russia and the ‘spnm's sound inventors’ in London. She has also composed music for the critically acclaimed chamber ensemble CHROMA, BCMG (Birmingham Contemporary Music Group), Ensemble 360, Thallein Ensemble, COMA, Brodsky Quartet, Noszferato, Icarus vocal ensemble, Birmingham Conservatoire Orchestra and Rowland Sutherland. Her pieces have been broadcast on the radio show Hildegard to Hildegard, her amplified flute piece Spryte is included in the Arcomis online Flute Album and her orchestral works have won Graduation and Orchestral prizes at the Birmingham Conservatoire.
